On December 12, 2018 the AsoEbiBella team visited 100 widows in the Shomolu area of Lagos for #AsoEbiBellaCares, an initiative to bring a little joy and love to widows’ lives during the festive season.

The team partnered with HDI (Human Development Initiatives) an NGO, who regularly support women with scholarships for their children, donations and more and the Folashade Olukoya Foundation for this specific event.

Thanks to the generous clothing and shoes donations from the AsoEbiBella community, about 2,000 items including aso oke headwraps, george fabric, and ready made outfits in over 15 big canvas bags were given to the widows.

Special Thanks to the generous donors who sent money to enable provisions were bought and the goods were transported to the widows.

Olufunso Owasanoye of HDI introduced Ink Eze, founder of AsoEbiBella to the widows. Ink spoke about how her mother is a widow and how they are all her mothers too. She said God loves them and hasn’t forgotten about them this season and always.

The widows prayed for all the AsoEbiBella community members who donated items and prayed for the success of the day, thanking God for our journey mercies there.

The foodstuff was shared to the widows. Each widow received a small bag of rice, a pack of spaghetti, a bottle of cooking oil, tomato paste, milk, jollof rice and chicken donated by caterer Authentic Cuisine and water, generously donated by Sweet Kiwi Yogurt.

The women were full of smiles at the end of the day. They also gave us generously! They shared small chops they had cooked fresh that day, with juice and water.

It was truly an amazing day made possible by the #AsoEbiBella community.
